Get involved with GovFi

For Public Finance Practitioners

Your finance team's hardest problems should help shape what gets built. GovFi brings practitioner experience into problem validation and solution development, so the work starts with government needs—not technology looking for a use.

Choose what fits your team

Three ways to participate

  • Share a challenge

Describe a recurring problem, its impact on your team, and what you have already tried. You do not need a proposed solution.

    Share a challenge
  • Explore testing collaboration

Tell us which topics matter to your government. GovFi may contact you about relevant testing or pilot collaboration as the work develops.

    Express testing interest
  • Follow our progress

Stay connected to GovFi's work and opportunities to participate without volunteering for a pilot or submitting a challenge.

What this looks like in practice

  • Practitioner challenge

Near-term cash needs are hard to see

A government can have an adopted budget and still lack the cash to meet obligations when they come due. Smaller governments and single-purpose districts may struggle to anticipate cash shortfalls, especially when major projects require spending before grant reimbursements arrive. The problem can become visible only when payments are imminent.

What happens after you get involved

  1. Step 1: Share your context

Choose one or more interests and tell us about your government. Keep personal, sensitive, and confidential information out of your description.

  2. Step 2: GovFi assesses relevance

Your input helps identify needs and potential fit. GovFi may follow up when a challenge or testing opportunity aligns; there is no guaranteed response timeline.

  3. Step 3: Agree any next step separately

Testing scope, staff time, data needs, and responsibilities would be discussed before participation. An expression of interest is not a pilot commitment.

Interest is non-binding and does not guarantee a pilot, create a purchase or other transaction, or imply GFOA endorsement. GovFi operates separately from GFOA.
