About

Where public finance problems become scalable solutions.

The model

GovFi Solutions starts with problems, not products. We work with public finance professionals to determine what actually needs solving. We develop some solutions ourselves and work with founders, companies, and other partners on others. Promising solutions are tested in real government environments. When the evidence and commercial opportunity support it, GovFi may invest capital and other resources to help scale what works. Over time, GovFi may invest both its own capital and capital raised from outside investors into opportunities that meet its evaluation criteria.

Our relationship with GFOA

GFOA 120th anniversary seal, 1906–2026

GovFi Solutions, Inc. is a for-profit subsidiary of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). GovFi operates as a separate corporation governed by its own board of directors.

GovFi develops, supports, and invests in public finance solutions. A GovFi investment, partnership, or commercial relationship does not constitute endorsement by GFOA unless expressly stated by GFOA.

What we do not do

We are not a traditional software vendor, consulting firm, venture capital fund, or GFOA endorsement program. We do not sell access to GFOA members or treat a GovFi investment or partnership as a GFOA endorsement. Investment is one tool in a broader model that includes problem validation, product development, pilots, partnerships, and commercialization. We do not assume every good idea should become a GovFi product, company, or investment. We use evidence and structured evaluation to determine the right path.
