GovFi Solutions is a for-profit subsidiary of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the professional association for government finance.

Many problems governments face never attract a good solution. GovFi was created to close that gap: validating problems with the people who live them, building and piloting solutions, and investing in what works.

GovFi operates as a separate corporation governed by its own board of directors. A GovFi investment, partnership, or commercial relationship does not constitute endorsement by GFOA unless expressly stated by GFOA.

Practitioner perspective

Built around the realities of public finance.

Public finance is changing quickly, and our tools and ways of working need to change with it. GovFi gives me confidence that our profession can help shape that future rather than simply react to it.

Victor Brownlees

Deputy City Manager, Administration

City of Pearland, Texas

There’s a lot changing in public finance right now. I like the idea that GovFi gives people doing the work a chance to help decide what better tools and ways of working should look like.

Robert Widigan

Finance Director

City of Pontiac, Michigan

GovFi can serve as a partner for the already stressed public finance officers, where a community is behind you to tackle the problems facing our industry, together.

Matt Clutterbuck, CPA, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Special District Risk Management Authority, Sacramento, California

Innovation in local government isn't about adopting technology for its own sake; it’s about solving real-world fiscal challenges faster and more collaboratively. GovFi is creating the space where finance professionals can actively design the future of public stewardship instead of waiting for it to happen.

David Goldman

Deputy City Administrator

City of Oak Harbor, Washington

The ecosystem

Three ways to contribute.

Progress in public finance takes more than one kind of participant. Different perspectives. A shared focus on better solutions for government.

  1. 01

    Practitioners

    Help shape what gets built.

Share an unmet need, contribute expertise, or express interest in testing solutions around the realities of government finance.

  2. 02

    Builders

Bring a solution to the table.

Bring a company, product, or idea. Explore problem validation, practitioner collaboration, pilot design, and selective investment.

  3. 03

    Investors
