Get involved with GovFi

For Founders, Technology Companies, and Builders

Bring a company, product, or early-stage idea that addresses a meaningful public finance problem. GovFi is a problem-first public finance venture: we can help connect domain understanding, practical validation, and a path to adoption.

Start non-confidential. Your initial overview is not confidential. Do not include trade secrets, proprietary technical details, or information you are not authorized to share.

Validate → Build → Pilot → Invest & Scale

Support shaped around the problem

  • Validate

Clarify the need, understand existing alternatives, and test whether the problem matters to public finance practitioners. Domain expertise can sharpen your assumptions.

  • Build

Explore co-development, product judgment, and public finance expertise. GovFi can develop internally or work with founders, companies, and partners.

  • Pilot

Design meaningful tests, define evidence of value, and consider adoption constraints. Any government collaboration requires its own agreed scope and responsibilities.

  • Invest & Scale

For selected opportunities, support may include commercialization, operating help, partnerships, or capital. Investment is possible, never promised.

Support depends on fit and evidence. Applying does not guarantee funding, an NDA, a pilot, access to GFOA channels, or endorsement by GFOA.

A short overview, not a confidential pitch

What to prepare

  • The public finance problem, who experiences it, and why existing approaches fall short.
  • Your organization and current stage: idea, prototype, in market, or scaling.
  • A public product or company link, if available, and brief context about potential fit.

Keep the initial submission high-level. The application includes the required Non-Confidential Submission Acknowledgment; review it before submitting.

What happens next

  1. Step 1: Submit an initial overview

Use the existing application to describe the problem and your stage. Submit only non-confidential information you have authority to share.

  2. Step 2: Explore potential fit

GovFi assesses fit and may request follow-up. If warranted, confidentiality arrangements can be discussed separately; no NDA or response deadline is guaranteed.

  3. Step 3: Validate before committing

Further validation, co-development, pilot work, or investment proceeds only if separately agreed. Either side can decide not to move forward.
